De rijksoverheid moet daar voldoende geld voor ter beschikking stellen. Dat schrijft FNV-vicevoorzitter Gijs van Dijk in een open brief aan minister Blok voor Wonen en Rijksdienst. Het gaat de FNV om de veiligheid, niet alleen van de consument en bewoner, maar ook die van bouwvakkers en hulpdiensten zoals de brandweer. De minister heeft vanmorgen een rondetafelgesprek met de Vaste Kamercommissie en een aantal organisaties uit de bouwwereld over zijn plannen om het bouwtoezicht te privatiseren met de wet Kwaliteitsborging voor het bouwen.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018De overheid moet haar verantwoordelijkheid voor een veilige leefomgeving niet overlaten aan de markt. De Nederlandse burger is daarmee niet gediend\u2019, schrijft Van Dijk.<\/p>\n<p>Gemeenten krijgen steeds minder budget van de rijksoverheid. Voorheen controleerde bouw- en woningtoezicht bouwtekeningen voorafgaand aan de bouw. Tijdens de bouw controleerde de gemeente op de bouwplaats. Dat laatste gebeurt door geldgebrek steeds minder. De minister stelt nu dat het daarom beter is om het bouwtoezicht te privatiseren.
