Dit blijkt uit het jaaroverzicht respiratoire infecties van 2015. Er waren 419 meldingen ten opzichte van 348 in 2014. De afgelopen jaren is er sowieso sprake van een stijgende trend, meldt het RIVM. Wat volgens het instituut waarschijnlijk is terug te voeren op de warmere, nattere zomers. In de zomer komt een legionellalongontsteking vaker voor dan in de winter. Vooral bij hevige regenval na een relatief warme periode ziet RIVM een toename van het aantal pati\u00ebnten. Het werkelijke aantal pati\u00ebnten ligt waarschijnlijk wat hoger dan het aantal meldingen.
