<\/a><\/p>\nOp donderdag 14 april jl. vond de landelijke Girlsday plaats, georganiseerd door VHTO. Honderden technische bedrijven en instellingen in Nederland deden hieraan mee. Zo ook Technologie Thuis Nu! Dit is een project van het Opleidings- en ontwikkelingsfonds voor het Technisch InstallatieBedrijf (OTIB). Dit jaar bezochten 52 meiden uit het tweede jaar van het Oosterlicht College in Nieuwegein het OTIB-project. Martine Beijer, installateur en eigenaar van een installatiebedrijf, gaf de meiden inzicht in wat zij zoal in de techniek, ICT en b\u00e8tawetenschappen zouden kunnen doen.<\/p>\n
Op Girlsday kunnen meisjes van 10 tot 15 jaar kennis maken met de wereld van b\u00e8tawetenschap, techniek en ICT. Tevens krijgen ze de kans om kennis te maken met vrouwelijke professionals die in deze sectoren werken. De meiden uit Nieuwegein hebben de modelwoningen van Technologie Thuis Nu! bezichtigd. Deze woningen laten zien hoe techniek kan bijdragen aan het langer thuis wonen van ouderen in comfortabele omstandigheden, hoe techniek mensen met een visuele beperking in huis kan ondersteunen en hoe techniek mensen met dementie of chronische longklachten meer mogelijkheden thuis biedt. Door middel van verschillende opdrachten hebben de meiden op kunnen ervaren wat techniek kan bieden in het dagelijks leven.<\/p>\n
Door het gebruik van een rolstoel in huis en het zelf ervaren van het hebben van visuele beperkingen met een speciale bril op geeft inzicht in wat er allemaal nodig is om een huis zo te ontwerpen dat mensen met een beperking er comfortabel kunnen wonen. De leerlingen vonden het bijzonder wat er technisch allemaal mogelijk is en waren enthousiast over het in de huid kunnen kruipen van iemand met een beperking.<\/p>\n
Het doel van de dag was techniek meer promoten onder jonge meiden. Veel van de meiden waren niet bekend met techniek. Volgens Martine, mede gastvrouw, was deze dag vooral belangrijk voor de beeldvorming over techniek. \u201cTechniek is meer dan meiden denken en zien. Het is de toekomst. Zo wordt techniek ook steeds belangrijker voor bijvoorbeeld de zorg.\u201d Voor Martine is het bieden van een volledig beeld over techniek belangrijk, zodat meiden weten wat de mogelijkheden zijn en ervan bewust zijn dat de keuze er is. \u201cDe keuze moet vooral gaan om wat je leuk vindt. Alles wat ik kan heb ik eerst moet leren, dat geldt ook voor jonge meiden.\u201d Door haar voorbeeldfunctie hoopt Martine meiden een zetje in de goede richting te geven, zodat we in de toekomst meer meisjes in de techniek zullen zien.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
