Dit probleem wordt met name gezien door installateurs en aannemers. De grootte van het bedrijf speelt hierbij geen rol; wel zijn het de bedrijven met 20 man personeel of meer die nog veel problemen verwachten voor de komende twee jaar. Tevens wordt onderkend dat er een kwantitatief personeelstekort is, maar dat is relatief gezien minder groot. Dit alles blijkt uit onderzoek van USP Marketing Consultancy dat in januari &#8211; februari 2016 is uitgevoerd onder 700 bedrijven in de bouw- en installatiesector. Van alle bouw en installatie gerelateerde bedrijven ziet op dit moment 40% een kwalitatief tekort aan personeel (kennis). Nog eens 20% verwacht dat dit binnen nu en 2 jaar een rol zal gaan spelen. In totaal is dus drie op de vijf bedrijven van mening dat dit een groot probleem is voor de sector. Daar waar zes op de tien bedrijven een kwalitatief tekort ervaart of op korte termijn verwacht, is een kwantitatief tekort bij vijf op de tien bedrijven aan de orde.
