In de bestaande woningbouw komt nog regelmatig luchtverwarming voor. In verband met de energietransitie kan dit voor uitdagingen zorgen. Er kan een lucht\/water-warmtepomp geplaatst worden, maar vaak zijn de warmtewisselaars in de bestaande luchtverwarming niet geschikt voor lagetemperatuurverwarming. De gok kan genomen worden om te kijken of de warmtepomp het nog warm krijgt, ook door wellicht aanvullende isolatiemaatregelen. Wanneer dit echter niet werkt, zal er niet alleen een nieuwe warmtepomp geplaatst moeten worden, maar zal ook de luchtverwarmer vervangen moeten worden voor een nieuw product dat wel geschikt is voor lage temperaturen. Dit zorgt wel voor een extra investering naast de warmtepomp.
\nOf is het wellicht beter om toch van luchtverwarming afstappen? Ook dit zorgt voor een stevige extra investering. Er is namelijk nog geen distributiesysteem met water in de woning aanwezig. Deze zal dus geheel nieuw aangelegd dienen te worden.
\nEen andere oplossing is om de luchtverwarming te vervangen door een lucht\/lucht-ventilatorconvectorwarmtepomp (fancoil-unit). Hiermee kan de luchtverwarmer \u00e9\u00e9n op \u00e9\u00e9n uitgewisseld worden voor een elektrische oplossing; er zal wel voor het tapwater nog een aanvullende installatie benodigd zijn. Deze lucht\/lucht-warmtepomp heeft als voordeel dat de investering relatief gezien meestal lager is. Nadeel is dat er geen subsidie op verleend wordt. Bovendien hebben deze ventilatorconvectoren een hoger luchtdebiet dan de gemiddelde luchtverwarmer om hetzelfde verwarmingsvermogen te kunnen leveren, wat geluidsklachten in kanalen of bij roosters op kan leveren.
\nEr zijn dus diverse mogelijkheden voor dit soort woningen qua verduurzamen. Uiteindelijk zal de oplossing altijd afhangen van de woning en de investeringsruimte.<\/p>\n
