Sinds 2021 is het kartongebruik met 18% gedaald. De doelstelling van het Brancheplan Verpakkingen (20% reductie in 2025) is daarmee binnen handbereik. Inmiddels wordt ook 98% van het gebruikte karton gerecycled, terwijl 81% van het nieuw gebruikte karton een FSC- of PEFC-keurmerk heeft. Het Brancheplan Verpakkingen is een initiatief van Techniek Nederland, FEDET en het ministerie van Infrastructuur en Waterstaat.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Het Brancheplan Verpakkingen had niet alleen maar positieve berichten. Zo steeg het gebruik van plastic in 2024 met bijna 20%. Tegelijkertijd daalde de hoeveelheid plastic die voor recycling of hergebruik werd ingezameld \u2013 van 81% in 2023 naar 66% in 2024. Wel stappen steeds meer bedrijven over op milieuvriendelijke alternatieven voor etiketten op verpakkingen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Stevige eindsprint nodig<br \/>\n<\/strong>Het Brancheplan Verpakkingen eindigt in 2025. Volgens Laurens de Vrijer, Hoofd Werkgevers- en Ondernemerschap bij Techniek Nederland moet er in het laatste jaar nog heel wat gebeuren. \u201cDe resultaten van het Brancheplan over 2024 laten zien dat een breed gedragen ketenaanpak werkt. Maar om de ambities van het Brancheplan te halen, is in 2025 nog een stevige eindsprint nodig.\u201d Ook Sebastiaan Scheers, projectmanager bij FEDET, roept de sector op tot extra inzet: \u201cDe resultaten zijn wisselend, maar de richting is goed. In 2025 gaan we grote stappen zetten om de doelstellingen van het Brancheplan te halen. We moeten fundamenteel anders omgaan met verpakkingen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Beweging is onomkeerbaar<br \/>\n<\/strong>Het laatste jaar van het Brancheplan Verpakkingen betekent niet dat de installatiebranche daarna achterover gaat leunen. De Vrijer: \u201cMet het Brancheplan hebben we een beweging in gang gezet die onomkeerbaar is. Volgend jaar maken we de eindresultaten bekend en bundelen we de opgedane ervaringen in een Successenboek. Daar profiteert straks de hele branche van.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Europese regels voor verpakkingen<br \/>\n<\/strong>Vermindering en verduurzaming van verpakkingen wordt volgend jaar verplicht op basis van Europese regels. Scheers: \u201cMet het Brancheplan nemen we daar al een voorschot op. Dat maakt het een stuk eenvoudiger om straks aan de wetgeving te voldoen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>75 deelnemers<br \/>\n<\/strong>Het Brancheplan Verpakkingen werd in maart 2022 gelanceerd door de technieksector. Het plan heeft als doel om in 2025 ten minste 20% minder plastic en karton te gebruiken. Daarnaast moeten straks alle verpakkingen volledig recyclebaar zijn. Techniek Nederland en FEDET voeren het Brancheplan uit in samenwerking met het ministerie van Infrastructuur en Waterstaat.
