Dat blijkt uit onderzoek van onderzoeksbureau Metabolic in opdracht van Dutch Green Building Council (DGBC). Ook hebben zonnepanelenproducenten nog onvoldoende plannen om milieuvriendelijker te produceren. Terwijl dat wel nodig is, zeker omdat door de woningbouwopgave de vraag naar zonnepanelen naar verwachting blijft stijgen. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Metabolic en DGBC analyseerden in hun onderzoek de CO2-uitstoot van de productie van verschillende materiaalsoorten en producten voor de bouwsector. De meest impactvolle productgroepen werden onder de loep genomen. De toegepaste bouwmaterialen en producten die bij productie het meeste CO2 uitstoten, zijn staal, beton, glas, isolatie en installaties. In die laatste categorie vallen ook de zonnepanelen. Die zijn verantwoordelijk voor 88 procent van de uitstoot in de installatiebranche.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reductie blijft steken<br \/>\n<\/strong>Met de huidige manier van produceren blijven producenten en leveranciers van staal, beton, installaties, isolatie en glas steken op 48 procent CO2-reductie in 2030, terwijl 60 procent nodig is. \u201cRadicaal anders bouwen \u00e9n produceren is daarom nodig om de klimaatdoelen te halen\u201d, laat Laetitia Nossek van DGBC weten. \u201cDe installatiebranche, met zonnepanelenproducenten voorop, lijkt zich nog niet te realiseren dat er snel actie nodig is.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Uitdagend<br \/>\n<\/strong>De grotere vraag naar bouwmaterialen door de nieuwbouwopgave, maar ook in toenemende mate de renovatieopgave, staat op gespannen voet met de doelen om de CO2-uitstoot te verminderen. De grote toepassing van zonnepanelen leidt met de huidige productiemethoden tot een verdubbeling van de uitstoot. Waar bij staal, beton en isolatie de verantwoording helder is en de zoektocht naar duurzamere alternatieven gaande is, blijft de installatiebranche achter. De zonnepanelenproducenten zijn het minst duidelijk over de uitstoot die de gebruikte materialen veroorzaken, constateerden de onderzoekers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Productie is vervuilend<br \/>\n<\/strong>Zonnepanelen zijn uitgerekend noodzakelijk als opwekker van duurzame energie, voor nieuwbouw maar ook zeker bij de bestaande gebouwen. Sinds 2019 is de vraag naar zonnepanelen alleen maar toegenomen, en met de woningbouwopgave van bijna een miljoen woningen tot 2030 blijft deze vraag stijgen. \u201cZonnepanelen drukken inmiddels heel hard op de CO2-voetafdruk van de gebouwde omgeving\u201d, zegt Nossek.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nieuwe manier van produceren<br \/>\n<\/strong>De sector moet om, adviseren de onderzoekers. Dat betekent stoppen met de productie van vervuilende materialen en overstappen naar alternatieve producten. Toni Kuhlmann van Metabolic legt uit : \u201cDe uitstoot van de productie moet omlaag en we moeten minder nieuwe materialen en installaties toepassen. Naast de energietransitie is een grootschalige transformatie nodig naar een circulaire (bouw)economie: minder materialen gebruiken, bouwmaterialen toepassen die geen CO2 uitstoten bij de productie, en veel meer hergebruiken en\/of biobased materialen toepassen.\u201d Nossek besluit: \u201cZonder circulaire oplossingen heb je ook geen CO2-neutrale bouwkolom\", besluit Nossek.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pgc-35552-0-1\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\" ><div id=\"panel-35552-0-1-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-image panel-first-child panel-last-child\" data-index=\"1\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-image so-widget-sow-image-default-8b5b6f678277-35552\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pg-35552-1\"  class=\"panel-grid panel-no-style\" ><div id=\"pgc-35552-1-0\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell panel-grid-cell-empty\" ><\/div><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bij de productie van zonnepanelen voor de bouwsector komt te veel CO2 vrij om de klimaatdoelen van 2030 te halen.
