Die conclusie trekt Techniek Nederland aan de vooravond van Girls\u2019 Day, op donderdag 30 maart. Het aantal meisjes dat dit schooljaar heeft gekozen voor een technische vmbo-opleiding ligt maar liefst 21% hoger dan in 2021- 2022. Voorzitter Doekle Terpstra van Techniek Nederland: \u201cVoor meisjes wordt een keuze voor techniek bijna net zo gewoon als een keuze voor de zorg of het onderwijs. Dat is goed nieuws voor de werkgevers in onze sector, maar ook voor de meiden zelf. Want de technieksector biedt enorme carri\u00e8rekansen.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>De toename van de instroom van meisjes op technische opleidingen komt niet als een verrassing. Terpstra: \u201cVan alle sectoren biedt de techniek waarschijnlijk het allerbeste uitzicht op een interessante en succesvolle loopbaan. Het vak wordt breder, innovatiever en digitaler. Zwaar materiaal maakt meer en meer plaats voor slimme techniek. Daar komt bij dat de cultuur in techniekbedrijven volop in beweging is; communicatieve vaardigheden, creativiteit en teamwork zijn belangrijker dan ooit. Werken in de techniek wordt daardoor steeds aantrekkelijker, voor mannen \u00e9n vrouwen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vrouwen zijn onmisbaar<br \/>\n<\/strong>Ondertussen neemt de maatschappelijke betekenis van de technieksector snel toe. De energietransitie is onuitvoerbaar zonder techniek, voor innovaties in de gezondheidszorg geldt hetzelfde. Het is niet realistisch om te denken dat de omvangrijke maatschappelijke opgaven te realiseren zijn met de helft van de beroepsbevolking, aldus Techniek Nederland. Meisjes hebben in de technieksector volop kansen als installatiemonteur, maar bijvoorbeeld ook als adviseur, ontwerper en data-analist.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vrouwen zijn in aantocht<br \/>\n<\/strong>De instroom in het vmbo bij het technisch profiel Produceren, Installeren en Energie (PIE) groeit licht. Dit schooljaar is 5,8% van de studenten een meisje; in het schooljaar 2021-2022 was dat 5%. Terpstra: \u201cEr moet dus nog veel gebeuren. Daarom is het goed dat veel techniekbedrijven op Girls\u2019 Day in actie komen en activiteiten organiseren. Techniek moet je zien en beleven, in de praktijk.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Girls\u2019 Day 2023: donderdag 30 maart<br \/>\n<\/strong>Girls\u2019 Day is bedoeld om meisjes tussen de 10 en 15 jaar enthousiast te maken voor technische opleidingen en beroepen.
