De puntenscore van\u00a0 de 23-jarige installatiemonteur Sam Strijbis uit Dirkshorn (NH) was bovendien \u00f3\u00f3k nog eens goed voor een vierde plaats op de wereldranglijst van alle mbo-wedstrijden samen.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>De finalisten hebben van woensdag 23 tot en met vrijdag 25 november een reeks opdrachten uitgevoerd. De projecten vereisten complexe technische kennis en capaciteiten, die de jongeren leren tijdens hun studie en opleiding op de werkplek.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Opleiding<br \/>\n<\/strong>Strijbis is in 2016, op 17-jarige leeftijd, bij opleidingsbedrijf IW Noord-Holland gestart met de opleiding \u2018eerste monteur werktuigkundige installaties (niveau 3)\u2019. Na zijn opleiding bij IW en het Horizon College in Heerhugowaard, is hij doorgestroomd naar de werkvoorbereiding niveau 4 opleiding. Hij werkt nu met zijn vader in diens installatiebedrijf, Strijbis Installaties. \u201c<\/p>\n<p><strong>Internationaal toernooi<br \/>\n<\/strong>Tijdens het jaarlijkse, internationale WorldSkills toernooi nemen de beste deelnemers uit nationale toernooien in ruim 58 verschillende landen het tegen elkaar op in een strijd om punten. Op het internationale WorldSkills toernooi worden competities gehouden in 43 vaardigheden uit een breed scala aan mbo-beroepen, vari\u00ebrend van elektronica en ICT tot plaatwerk, bloemisterij, hospitality en het kappersvak.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vakjury<br \/>\n<\/strong>Tijdens de competitie zijn de finalisten door een vakjury beoordeeld op verschillende aspecten van het werk, waarbij veel gewicht werd gegeven aan snelheid en zorgvuldigheid. Maar ook aspecten als werkorganisatie, communicatieve en interpersoonlijke vaardigheden, probleemoplossend vermogen en flexibiliteit zijn door de jury meegewogen in de eindbeoordeling.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Verspreid<br \/>\n<\/strong>Oorspronkelijk hadden de wereldkampioenschappen dit jaar in het Chinese Shanghai moeten plaatsvinden, maar COVID-19 gooide roet in het eten. Daarom zijn de competities dit jaar verspreid over verschillende landen en regio's. Voor Nederland kwamen in totaal 20 finalisten uit tegen de wereldtop van jonge vakmensen in hun respectievelijke beroepen. Van 7 september tot 26 november zijn er in totaal 62 wedstrijden gehouden in 15 landen op drie continenten.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hoog niveau<br \/>\n<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cDe resultaten op het WorldSkills toernooi laten telkens weer zien dat, in het vakgebied installatietechniek, we in Nederland op hoog niveau opleiden\u201d, zegt Ronald Olij, voorzitter van Stichting IW Nederland. IW Nederland is specialist in opleidingen voor elektro- en installatietechniek. Het opleidingsbedrijf bestaat uit zeven regionale bedrijven met in totaal 42 locaties door het hele land.
