Na twee jaar gedwongen pauze vanwege Covid-19 is er weer een Nederlands kampioen \u2018sanitair- en verwarmingstechniek\u2019. Sam Strijbis uit Dirkshorn ging er afgelopen vrijdag in de Utrechtse Jaarbeurs met de titel vandoor. Hij deelde het podium met Joep Stamer uit Ottersum en Jordy de Blaeij uit Axel. Tijdens de finales nam de installateur in opleiding het op tegen zeven vakgenoten die zich in de voorrondes hadden gekwalificeerd. Strijbis is in opleiding bij IW Noord-Holland en het Horizon College in Alkmaar.<\/strong><\/p>\n

De categorie \u2018sanitair- en verwarmingstechniek\u2019 is een vakgebied waarin installatiemonteurs woningen en bedrijfsgebouwen voorzien van geavanceerde klimaattechniek, verwarmingsinstallaties en sanitaire voorzieningen. Het beroep is de voorzetting van wat ooit bekend stond als het \u2018loodgietersvak\u2019.<\/p>\n

Complexer
\n<\/strong>Die term is in onbruik geraakt door de technische ontwikkelingen in de installatietechniek. \u201cEen installatiemonteur sanitair- en verwarmingstechniek legt tegenwoordig complexe systemen aan waarbij steeds meer elektronische en digitale aansturing wordt gebruikt\u201d, zegt bestuursvoorzitter Ronald Olij van IW Nederland daarover. IW is marktleider in het Nederlands vakonderwijs voor installatietechniek. \u201cOok werken de installatiemonteurs tegenwoordig met veel meer innovatieve gereedschappen en materialen dan de loodgieter van weleer. Dat heeft het vak en de opleiding erg interessant gemaakt voor mensen die affiniteit hebben met techniek.\u201d<\/p>\n

Verduurzaming en energietransitie
\n<\/strong>Door de toenemende woningbehoefte en daaruit voorvloeiende bouwactiviteit in Nederland is in de installatietechniek grote vraag naar goed geschoold personeel. \u201cHet vak biedt zowel voor nieuwkomers als voor zij-instromers goede baangaranties en arbeidsvoorwaarden\u201d, aldus Olij. Maar ook door de energietransitie en het verduurzamingsbeleid neemt de vraag naar goede installatiemonteurs toe. \u201cDe ontwikkelingen in onze sector gaan razendsnel. Er is grote vraag naar personeel. Wie voor dit vak kiest, weet zich niet alleen verzekerd van werk in overvloed; het is ook een vak dat garant staat voor een leven lang professionele en persoonlijke ontwikkeling. Er wordt door de sector veel ge\u00efnvesteerd in opleiding, zowel voor nieuwkomers als voor medewerkers die al langer in het vak zitten.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vakwedstrijden
\n<\/strong>De Skills competities, georganiseerd door van World Skills Netherlands<\/strong>, zijn vakwedstrijden voor (v)mbo-studenten in verschillende beroepsgroepen. De meeste deelnemers volgen een leerwerktraject. Ze werken bij een leerbedrijf en gaan daarnaast naar school. Elk jaar worden er wedstrijden georganiseerd; dit jaar in maar liefst 52 vakrichtingen, van verpleegkundigen en automonteurs tot ICT-beheerders en schoonheidsspecialisten. Via voorrondes op school en kwalificatiewedstrijden kunnen (v)mbo-studenten in de nationale finales komen. Daar strijden ze om de titel beste vakman of -vrouw van Nederland.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
