Mannen (29%) overwegen omscholing naar de techniek vaker dan vrouwen (11%), zo blijkt uit onderzoek door TechniekOpleiding.nl onder ruim 1.500 werkende Nederlanders. Het animo in verschillende sectoren die bovengemiddeld onder druk staan door de coronacrisis is opvallend genoeg laag. Van de Nederlanders die actief zijn in de sector toerisme &amp; luchtvaart zegt slechts 17 procent omscholing naar de techniek serieus te overwegen. Ook in de horeca en de cultuur-, sport- en recreatiesector is er weinig interesse in omscholing naar een technisch beroep (respectievelijk 21% en 3%). <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mensen werkzaam in sectoren die minder hard geraakt zijn door de coronacrisis lijken wel bovengemiddeld ge\u00efnteresseerd in omscholing naar de techniek. Van de mensen werkzaam in de financi\u00eble dienstverlening, landbouw, bos en visserij, telecommunicatie en industrie- en nutsbedrijven overweegt 30 tot 33 procent serieus om zich om te scholen naar de techniek.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Omscholing: waar te beginnen?<br \/>\n<\/strong>Het zijn met name praktische drempels die Nederlanders lijken te weerhouden van een omscholing naar de techniek. Zo weet vier op de tien (39%) niet waar ze zouden moeten beginnen bij een omscholing en zegt de helft (49%) niet te weten waar ze terecht kunnen voor een omscholingssubsidie. Een kwart (26%) denkt dat omscholen te lang duurt.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gebrek aan nieuwe aanwas<br \/>\n<\/strong>John Huizing, directeur bij TechniekOpleiding.nl: \u201cEen van de problemen van het personeelstekort binnen de techniek is het gebrek aan nieuwe aanwas. Uit dit onderzoek blijkt dat er praktische drempels zijn voor veel Nederlanders om omscholing naar de techniek te overwegen. Het is daarom zaak deze drempels te verlagen.
