In duizenden woningen in Nederland zou de concentratie te hoog zijn. \u2018Als ook langdurige blootstelling aan lage concentraties koolmonoxide van 9 of zelfs 6 ppm schadelijk is, moet dit vanzelfsprekend worden voorkomen\u2019, laat Techniek Nederland hierop aan Installatienet weten. \u2018Koolmonoxidemelders die ook lage concentraties koolmonoxide \u2013 onder de 10 ppm \u2013 detecteren kunnen daarbij helpen. Laat daarom altijd een koolmonoxidemelder plaatsen als extra beveiliging (naast regulier onderhoud).\u2019 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2018De wettelijke certificering is overigens toereikend om de risico\u2019s van blootstelling aan lage concentraties koolmonoxide te voorkomen, benadrukt de ondernemersorganisatie. \u2018Als de cv-ketel door een vakbekwame monteur wordt geplaatst en volgens de fabrikantenvoorschriften wordt onderhouden, zal er geen koolmonoxide \u2013 ook geen lage concentratie \u2013 in de ruimte vrijkomen. Bij onderhoud van de cv-ketel controleert de monteur onder meer of de rookgasvoer nog optimaal is bevestigd en of er sprake is van koolmonoxide. Als dat laatste het geval is, neemt de monteur onmiddellijk maatregelen.\u2019<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ook rookgasafvoer vervangen<br \/>\n<\/strong>\u2018Vrijkomen van koolmonoxide in de opstellingsruimte wordt ook voorkomen door bij vervanging van de cv-ketel \u00f3\u00f3k de rookgasafvoer te vervangen\u2019, vervolgt Techniek Nederland. \u2018Dit wordt vaak ten onrechte achterwege gelaten. Zowel de cv-ketel als de rookgasafvoer kennen een technische levensduur van 12 tot 15 jaar.\u2019<br \/>\nTechniek Nederland benadrukt dat vooral cv-ketels met een collectieve rookgasafvoer om extra aandacht vragen. De ondernemersorganisatie roept VvE\u2019s op hun verantwoordelijkheid te nemen voor beheer en onderhoud van het collectieve rookgasafvoersysteem. Het opnemen hiervan in een meerjarig onderhoudsplan voorkomt gevaarlijke situaties. Het is belangrijk om onderzoek te doen naar de technische staat van de collectieve rookgasafvoer en op basis daarvan eventuele maatregelen te nemen. VvE\u2019s kunnen hierbij gebruikmaken van een <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rijksoverheid.nl\/documenten\/publicaties\/2017\/02\/02\/handreiking-en-infoblad-gemeenschappelijke-rookgasafvoeren\">handreiking van de overheid.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>De ondernemersorganisatie benadrukt verder dat ook het versneld vervangen van afvoerloze geisers door afvoergebonden toestellen helpt om het vrijkomen van \u2013lage- concentraties koolmonoxide in de opstellingsruimte te voorkomen.
