Het vijfjarige Europese PACE-project dat door de Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking gefinancieerd wordt, denkt een doorbraak te kunnen zijn voor de verspreiding van deze technologie. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Brandstofcel micro-WKK laat huishoudens en kleine ondernemingen toe om op een effici\u00ebnte manier tegelijkertijd warmte en electriciteit te genereren. Het doel van het PACE-project is om tegen 2021 minstens 2.800 brandstofcel micro-WKK-eenheden geplaatst te hebben in tien Europese landen. Met 1.391 verkochte eenheden is het project op schema.<\/p>\n<p>Momenteel zijn er bijna 10.000 brandstofcel micro-WKK-eenheden verdeeld over Europa.\u00a0 \u201cWe willen iedereen eraan herinneren dat deze splinternieuwe technologie bestaat, een enorm potentieel heeft, en in heel Europa wordt ingezet,\u201d zegt Hans Korteweg, Managing Director van COGEN Europe.<\/p>\n<p>Er is een groeiende belangstelling van commerci\u00eble eindgebruikers en huishoudens in Nederland voor brandstofcel micro-WKK. Ondanks het grote marktpotentieel heeft de Nederlandse overheid echter het initiatief genomen om woningen en bedrijven af te sluiten van het gasnet, waardoor investeringen in brandstofcel micro-WKK onrendabel worden. \u201cDe fabrikanten zijn ervan overtuigd dat er een mooie toekomst op deze technologie staat te wachten en zijn reeds bezig met het lanceren van nieuwe en verbeterde eenheden. Dit heeft op zijn beurt de aandacht getrokken van politici, de toeleveringsketen en eindgebruikers over heel Europa. Omdat het product hoogst effici\u00ebnt is, zien deze eindgebruikers dit ook als een technologie die de CO2-uitstoot gevoelig vermindert, en stikstofoxiden, zwaveloxiden en fijnstof zelfs bijna helemaal buiten spel zet,\u201d vervolgt Hans Korteweg.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEuropese huishoudens zijn meer en meer ge\u00efnteresseerd in duurzamere en klimaatvriendelijkere energieoplossingen voor hun woning. Dat maakt onze technologie aantrekkelijk,\u201d zegt Hans Korteweg. \u201cBovendien is in landen waar elektriciteit duur is, je eigen elektriciteit en warmte genereren met een brandstofcel micro-WKK eenheid erg interessant voor de portemonnee.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Het PACE-project brengt de vijf grootste Europese leveranciers (BDR Thermea, Bosch, SOLIDpower, Sunfire and Viessmann) samen en focust op particuliere woningen en kleine ondernemingen. Deze fabrikanten worden gesteund door vier partners die elk hun specifieke expertise aanleveren. Deze partners zijn COGEN Europe, DTU, Element Energy en EWE.
