Het systeem bestaat uit een CO2-warmtepomp in combinatie met PCM-buffervaten. Vanwege de hoge afgiftetemperatuur van de warmtepomp (max. 85\u00b0C) was het niet nodig om de bestaande installatie aan te passen, de radiatoren te vervangen en de gebouwschil te isoleren. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Het Caldameg systeem dat \u00e9\u00e9n op \u00e9\u00e9n vervanging mogelijk maakt is ontworpen door Global-E-Systems, een ontwikkelaar en leverancier van energiebesparende producten. Het systeem bestaat uit een CO2-warmtepomp in combinatie met PCM-buffervaten. Vanwege de hoge afgiftetemperatuur van de CO2 warmtepomp (max. 85\u00b0C) was het niet nodig om de bestaande installatie aan te passen, de radiatoren te vervangen en de gebouwschil te isoleren. Hierdoor is er enorm bespaard op de renovatiekosten, aldus de ontwikkelaar. \u2018Bestaande gebouwen van het gas koppelen wordt op deze manier niet alleen makkelijker maar ook aantrekkelijker. Een ander voordeel is dat de CO2 warmtepompen in de winter een beter rendement halen. In tegenstelling tot de traditionele warmtepomp, kan een CO2 warmtepomp beter presteren met zeer koude buitentemperaturen.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>De buffervaten worden toegepast om de opgewekte warmte op te slaan. Op deze manier dekt het systeem de piekvraag af zonder een grootverbruiker op het gebied van elektriciteit te worden. Door de toepassing van PCM in de buffervaten wordt de effectieve capaciteit van het opslagsysteem vergroot. Fase-overgangsmaterialen kunnen namelijk meer thermische energie opslaan binnen een bepaald temperatuurtraject dan water.
