De vereniging noemt het zelf een \u2018strijdplan voor een CO2-neutrale toekomst\u2019. Ze benadrukt dat het doel voor 2050 niet is om \u2018van gas af\u2019 te gaan, maar wel om van het Groningse aardgas af te gaan. Dat kan met duurzame gassen, zoals biogas en waterstof, aldus KVGN. De gasnetten zullen daarvoor moeten worden vernieuwd en moeten dus blijven bestaan.<\/p>\n<p>De gassector is bij haar visie uitgegaan van het realiseren van klimaatdoelen met behoud van het huidige niveau van leveringszekerheid tegen zo laag mogelijke maatschappelijke kosten. Het visiedocument houdt volgens KVGN ook rekening met de voorlopige resultaten van de lopende onderhandelingen over het klimaatakkoord.
