Centraal staan nieuwe eisen aan materialen en de dichtheid van luchtkanalen, op basis van de nieuwe ATC-klassen conform NEN EN 16798 deel 3. Veel fabrikanten werken toe naar duidelijke specificaties om zodoende een CE-markering van luchtkanalen mogelijk te maken.<\/p>\n<p>De branche is nu bekend met de luchtdichtheidsklassen A, B, C en D. Dat gaat veranderen. Van letters moeten worden overgeschakeld naar cijfers met daaraan voorafgaand de indicatie ATC, wat staat voor Air Tightness Class. Er ontstaan 6 klassen in plaats van de gebruikelijke 4. Tussen de klassen zit telkens een factor drie aan verbetering van de leklucht. De nieuwe ATC 6 was eigenlijk al bekend als klasse 3A. Een betere klasse dan D was er echter nog niet. Die is nu toch gevonden in klasse ATC 1. Dit is wederom een factor 3 beter dan klasse ATC 2 (het huidige D).\u00a0 In de nieuwe ATC-classificering is 6 dus de slechtst en ATC1 de best presterende klasse. De grenswaarden voor leklucht (f max in m\u00b3\/hm\u00b2) blijven wel gelijk.<\/p>\n<p>Voorlopig zullen de klassen A t\/m D overigens nog blijven bestaan, aangezien de onderliggende normen zoals NEN EN 1507, 122237, 1751 en 15727 nog niet vertaald zijn naar de nieuwe klasse-indeling. De wens van veel producenten is nu te werken aan een CE-markering op basis van duidelijk omschreven kenmerken.
