Deze installatie levert elektriciteit en warmte op van houtresten uit de gemeente Duiven en omgeving. De installatie kan uiteindelijk jaarlijks 12.500 MWh elektriciteit en 87.600 MWh warmte produceren. Dit komt overeen met het elektriciteits- en aardgasverbruik van bijna 4.000 respectievelijk 7.000 huishoudens. De aansluitingen om op termijn het stadswarmtenet van Arnhem, Duiven en Westervoort aan te laten haken zijn al voorbereid.<\/p>\n<p>Als fondsmanager van Topfonds Gelderland investeert Oost NL vanuit het Innovatie en Energiefonds Gelderland in de warmtekrachtinstallatie. Pieter Rhemrev, business unit manager Capital bij Oost NL over de investering: \u201cDe verwerking van lokale afvalstromen van hout en groen tot opwek van warmte en elektriciteit in samenwerking met regionale partners die deze warmte zinvol inzetten in hun productieproces, is een mooi voorbeeld van de realisatie van duurzaamheidsdoelstellingen. Sparkling Biomass past uitstekend binnen de topsector Energie en sluit aan bij de realisatie van de Gelderse ambities op het gebied van energietransitie.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Per 1 oktober is gestart met de voorbereidingen voor de bouw van de installatie.
