De norm wordt aangewezen door het Bouwbesluit uit 2012. NEN 8078 betreft bestaande gebouwgebonden systemen in een niet-industri\u00eble omgeving. Bouwbesluit 2012 stelt de eisen en verwijst voor de bepalingsmethoden naar deze norm. Deze norm geeft het minimum veiligheidsniveau waaraan een bestaande gasinstallatie altijd moet voldoen. In de uitgave van januari 2018 was met name de bepalingsmethode voor de gasdichtheid (bijlage A) nader uitgewerkt voor installaties van verschillende leidinginhouden.<\/p>\n<p>De wijzigingen zijn zeer beperkt. In bijlage A is nu toegevoegd dat de beproeving altijd moet worden uitgevoerd bij een druk van 25 mbar en ook dat bij de categorie tussen 50 en 500 dm3 de meettijd een minimum van 180 s moet hebben. Deze wijziging is direct verwerkt in de geconsolideerde versie NEN 8078+A1:2018.
