In de nieuwe versie heeft de persproef van de fabrikant een belangrijker functie gekregen. Deze wordt nu boven de voorgeschreven persproefmethoden gesteld. Met de persproef worden de trekvaste delen van installatie, zoals fittingen, getest op waterdichtheid en sterkte (afschuiving). Deze persproef mocht alleen worden uitgevoerd met (drink)water of olievrije lucht. Dat mag nu ook met inert gas (bijvoorbeeld CO2 of stikstof).<\/p>\n<p>Deze methode met inert gas heeft als voordeel dat er geen water in de installatie achterblijft en vervuiling en vorming van een biofilm worden voorkomen. Het nieuwe waterwerkblad schrijft voor de waterpersproef een duur van 30 minuten voor; de droge-persproef vergt 150 minuten.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Standaard-protocollen<br \/>\n <\/strong>Fabrikant Viega laat weten al een groot aantal jaren standaard-protocollen aan te bieden voor de uitvoering van natte en droge persproeven. De persfittingen van het bedrijf zijn bovendien uitgevoerd met het zogenaamde SC-Contur. Deze veiligheidsvoorziening zorgt ervoor dat fittingen die niet geperst zijn, niet dicht zijn. Dat klinkt vanzelfsprekend, zegt de fabrikant, maar wordt duidelijker wanneer wordt bedacht dat bij het insteken van een buis in een fitting de verbinding al dicht kan lijken. Door de minimale toleranties die bij de productie worden aangehouden, kan de installatie in sommige gevallen zelfs gewoon worden gebruikt. Door plotse drukstijgingen of cavitatie van leidingen kan de fitting echter losschieten met schade door waterlekkage als gevolg.<\/p>\n<p>Het SC-Contur van Viega biedt hiertegen uitkomst. Door een &#8216;kanaaltje&#8217; in de zitting van de fitting zijn niet geperste fittingen altijd direct zichtbaar \u2013 op de manometer dan wel bij een visuele inspectie.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Steeds vaker waterschade<br \/>\n <\/strong>Verzekeringsmaatschappijen worden steeds vaker geconfronteerd met waterschade. Een deel hiervan wordt veroorzaakt door persfittingen die niet zijn geperst of persproeven die niet zijn uitgevoerd.
