Hiermee neemt het kabinet een belangrijk stap in het terugdringen van de CO2-uitstoot.&nbsp; Minister van Economische Zaken, Henk Kamp, heeft hiervoor vandaag een wetswijziging naar de Tweede Kamer gestuurd.<\/p>\n<p>Minister Kamp: \u201cIn de Energieagenda heeft het kabinet aangegeven dat in 2050 de CO2-uitstoot naar bijna nul moet zijn teruggebracht. Om dat te bereiken, moeten we ook van het aardgas af. Want een groot deel van de CO2-uitstoot, zo\u2019n 30 procent, wordt nu nog veroorzaakt voor het verwarmen van woningen, gebouwen en tuinbouwkassen. Met het laten vervallen van de verplichte gasaansluiting bij nieuwbouwwijken nemen we opnieuw een belangrijk stap op weg naar het terugdringen van deze CO2-uitstoot.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Voorwaarde is wel dat er een alternatieve infrastructuur beschikbaar is die in de warmtebehoefte van de woningen kan voorzien. \u201cVan deze maatregel zal dan ook een stimulerend effect uitgaan op de totstandkoming van alternatieve warmtebronnen\u201d, aldus de bewindsman.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tienduizenden huizen<br \/>\n<\/strong>Jaarlijks krijgen ruim 40.000 nieuwbouwhuizen een nieuwe gasaansluiting. Voor naar schatting 25.000 nieuwbouwwoningen wordt hiervoor een geheel nieuw gasnet aangelegd of uitgebreid. Als na 1 januari 2018 de verplichting voor aansluiting op het gasnet komt te vervallen is het aan de betreffende gemeenten om te bepalen of deze woningen aangesloten worden op een warmtenet of een andere energie-infrastructuur.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bestaande woningen<br \/>\n<\/strong>Voor bestaande woningen zal een overstap naar een andere vorm van duurzame energie zeer zorgvuldig moeten plaatsvinden. De bewoners hebben dan immers al een gasaansluiting. Daarvoor moet eerst een helder juridisch kader ontwikkeld worden, zo meldt het ministerie.
