Het aantal ingrijpende verbeteringen aan woningen (van meer dan 20.000 euro per woning) zal stijgen van 14.800 woningen in 2014 tot 30.000 in 2017. Dit blijkt uit onderzoek in opdracht van het ministerie van BZK. In een enqu\u00eate van de NOS en de regionale omroepen onder ruim 8.500 huurders vindt \u00e9\u00e9n op de vijf dat zijn woning slecht onderhouden is. Gemiddeld krijgen woningen het rapportcijfer 6,1. Onderzoek van de vereniging van woningcorporaties Aedes wijst uit dat huurders hun woning positiever beoordelen: gemiddeld een 7,3. In dit onderzoek gaven ruim 170.000 huurders een oordeel over hun corporatie.<\/p>\n<p>Het goed ventileren van woningen is belangrijk om vocht en schimmel te kunnen voorkomen. Dit probleem komt vooral voor in oudere corporatiewoningen; het risico op vochthinder is relatief beperkt bij woningen van na 1980. Ook het gedrag van bewoners \u2013 bijvoorbeeld te weinig ventileren of te weinig stoken \u2013 kan leiden tot problemen. Corporaties informeren huurders over het belang van goede ventilatie. Aedes ontwikkelt op dit moment onder andere stappenplannen, die corporaties helpen vocht en schimmel in woningen te voorkomen en te verhelpen.<\/p>\n<p>De branchevereniging erkent overigens dat er tijdens de economische crisis minder is ge\u00efnvesteerd in het onderhouden en verbeteren van woningen. Dat wijt de branche mede aan het kabinetsbeleid, met name aan de &#8216;verhuurderheffing&#8217; van 1,7 miljard euro die de corporaties jaarlijks moeten betalen. Allerlei plannen en goede voornemens konden daardoor niet worden waargemaakt.<\/p>\n<p>Zo hadden de corporaties in het Energieakkoord beloofd dat zij zouden proberen in 2020 woningen gemiddeld een energielabel B te bezorgen.
